About Us
Experienced Coaching Professional
Red Dirt Rugby Academy has been started by Clint Morrison, a teacher and Rugby coach, who has worked in rural and regional areas of Queensland including the South Burnett.
Clint Morrison is now coaching Rugby in Gympie and is concerned that children in rural communities are not having the opportunity to experience the great game of rugby.
Red Dirt Rugby Academy wants to give children in smaller communities the opportunity to play and develop rugby skills that aren’t currently being offered. The academy also wants to develop skills in younger children of these communities that might be heading off to boarding school so they can compete with other students who have already experienced rugby.
Clint Morrison has just recently returned from the Under 15’s Boys Rugby Union championships in Toowoomba where he managed the Wide Bay team. His concern is that in such a large region like the Wide Bay, many students are not being exposed to the game of Rugby Union. He is also concerned that Indigenous children are not able to experience the game of Rugby Union.
Clint Morrison has been involved with Rugby Union over the last 15 years and coached in many areas of Queensland. His main passion is to give an opportunity to all children, especially those in smaller communities. He currently coaches at the grassroots level coaching boys and girls rugby who compete in the Sunshine Coast schools competition.
Last year his Under 13’s boys team were Grand Finalists in the Sunshine Coast Schools competition playing against Sunshine Coast Grammar. This year his Under 14’s girls team are so far undefeated in the Sunshine Coast Schools competition.
